Cohen @ 10 Months

If I could sum up our little guy's first double-digit month in a few words, it would be on the move! Although he didn't start crawling until the end of the month (February 23, to be exact), around the beginning of this month, he started wanting to stand up holding onto things, and now he can very proficiently cruise around the furniture. If the table or chair is low enough, he can pull up on his own, but he still needs a bit of help with that at times. Now that he's crawling, though, he wants to be everywhere! Stephen didn't crawl well until about 13 months, so this is new territory for me - especially since 10 month olds don't understand "No!" very well.

Here's our boy at 10 months. Yes, it is so warm here that we have been wearing shorts the past few days! I couldn't get him to smile, and this was the only picture I could get at all where he was sitting down.

This is what he wanted to do the entire time I was trying to get a picture! The outfit he is wearing is one that I recently pulled out of Stephen's old clothes, and I remembered that in one of Stephen's monkey pictures, he was wearing the same outfit. But it wasn't at 10 months. It was at 8 months!

Cohen is about the size that Stephen was at 7-8 months, so I guess it makes sense. In some ways, it's nice right now, because I have some warm weather clothes. But Stephen was wearing this outfit in September, so  the clothes I have that are bigger than that are mostly cool weather clothes. Still, I've been able to repurpose some clothes and find some good deals at Target, so Cohen hasn't had to go naked yet.

We've spent lots of time playing this month, as both boys are now somewhat interested in playing "with" each other.

Stephen's favorite thing to do is get in Cohen's bed with him. Cohen just wants to stand up, which is fine with Stephen. As long as they're together!

He's still taking two naps, and I anticipate that will last for a while. I wouldn't be surprised if he keeps two naps longer than Stephen did, which was 17.5 months. The first nap is usually about 1.75 hours, and I wake him up from that so that he can go down for his afternoon nap about 30 minutes after Stephen goes down. This gives me 2ish hours of nap overlap in the afternoon, which allows me to get things done that can't get done when they're awake!

He's now eating what we're eating at every meal. I don't think he's had any baby food this month! He loves it and gets so excited/impatient when I first bring out the food. He will eat pretty much anything we offer him, even though he doesn't have any teeth yet!

This wasn't Cohen's first trip to the zoo, but it was the first one where he actually got to look around. Ironically, later on during this day that we went to the zoo, we ended up in the hospital! He had a super high fever that wouldn't go down, so we spent about 36 hours at the hospital until he was hydrated and doing better.

He's wearing mostly 9-12 month clothes and is kind of in between a size 2 and 3 shoe. At a check-up last week, he weighed 22 pounds, 9 ounces. I can't remember how long he was, but I know that his height and weight were both in the 70-75th percentile. His head, however, was in the 98th percentile!

Although he does have a pretty happy disposition, he has been showing off a bit of the other side of his nature this month. He gets really angry if you walk too far away because he isn't quite crawling fast enough to get to you, and he also is starting to get upset if you (or Stephen) take something away from him. He's developed a severe obsession for the computer, the camera and my cell phone, and he moves like lightning if one of those is within reach.

This has been a big month! We've enjoyed seeing his personality come out, and we were just talking about how crazy it is that by summer, he will likely be walking! I'm not sure I'm ready for two mobile toddlers, but I do know that I love this munchkin - who gets called Coco, Coco Butter, Coconut, Pumpkin or Monkey depending on the day - more than I could ever say!
